  • Recovery of a pastoral and sacramental theology from our patristic roots that sees the pastoral office as the locus for Christ’s work as preacher, liturgist, catechist, and care giver;
  • A library rich in pastoral theology and sacred music resources that will assist pastors and scholars in research;
  • A yearly conference near All Saints’ Day on themes in pastoral theology and sacred music;
  • The publication of the papers from the annual All Saints’ conference;
  • A presence on the World Wide Web that extends the resources of the Good Shepherd Institute to a broad audience in the service of the church;
  • A house of studies for pastors and scholars to produce materials for the church in pastoral theology and sacred music;
  • An ongoing presence of pastors and scholars to teach in the M.Div. program, in the S.T.M. in Pastoral Theology program, in the D.Min. program, and in a proposed Master of Sacred Music (M.S.M.) program;
  • A resource for lectures to the seminary community of visiting pastors and scholars in their area of expertise, and a place to share and discuss the fruit of their research;
  • Publication of materials for use by congregations and pastors to proclaim the biblical faith in the church’s teaching and worship life;
  • A place of theoretical and practical study for Kantors and parish musicians in the church;
  • A place to maintain and cultivate the seminary’s rich tradition in choral services;
  • A center for the composition, arrangement, publishing, and recording of hymns and sacred music;
  • A resource for congregations who are buying a new instrument for worship, refurbishing an old one, or seeking acoustical consultation;
  • A place for congregations to learn about church architecture as they contemplate building a new church or remodeling an existing building;
  • A place for the ecclesiastical arts, displaying artwork, fabrics, designs for paraments, banners, paintings, and other ecclesiastical adornments.
